“Turning on the light is easy if you know where the switch is.”

~Colin Wilson, writer

You may be the greatest writer in the world, but if you don’t know the answers to a few simple questions, you may never find yourself among the published. It often happens that there is a disconnect between a writer’s ability to write and her ability to communicate about her writing. We may be comfortable in the solitude—creating our characters, planning our plot points, mining for metaphors—but if we don’t hone our skills in selling our work, in getting someone else as enthused about it as we are, we may end up in the long line of “never been published” writers.

This four-week webinar by author Jan Phillips, who has published ten award-winning books, will help you develop a language for representing your work. She will provide you with prompts for short online writing, offer feedback on sample pitches, show templates for successful marketing campaigns, and address the power of story and the importance of getting your own story straight.

You can expect to come away from this course with:

  • all the tools you need for self-promotion
  • an awareness of what a publisher expects from the writer
  • a pathway to developing your unique “platform”
  • answers to your questions about agents, publishing and self-publishing

REGISTER even if you can't attend all four sessions "live," because we will promptly email you the recording of each session.
