The InternationalWomen's Writing Guild
Join Suzi Banks Baum for an evening of playful activity to stimulate your daily writing practice. Especially in this fall season when we are inspired to prepare for winter, we will experiment with nourishing habits that take our attention to the page. Expect to write a short letter, expect to doodle, and expect to be comforted and encouraged by the Powder Keg practices which center and nourish all writers to return to their interior resources. Please bring a journal and pen, sharp pencil, and a simple envelope and sheet of paper to this workshop.
Suzi Banks Baum dwells at the crossroad of literary and visual arts. A writer, mixed media and book artist, Suzi expresses the holy ordinary. She is from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and lives in the Berkshires of Massachusetts on land stolen from the Mohican people. Her devotion to daily creative practice is the superfood for her signature teachings: Backyard Art Camp, the Powder Keg Writing Workshops, and Advent Dark Journal. Suzi travels to Gyumri, Armenia yearly to teach the book arts to women artists. She also administers the Writers Studio of the Pentaculum residency at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts. She teaches for the International Women’s Writing Guild and will be at Snowfarm Craft School in May 2021 in Florence, MA. Her first book, An Anthology of Babes gives voice to 36 artist mothers. Her fiction is published in The Collection: Flash Fiction for Flash Memory by Anchala Studios and the Walloon Writers Review.
