Muhlenberg College, founded in 1848, is a private four-year liberal arts college located in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Our team of members who visited this summer fell in love. You will, too!

Here's why:

Easy Access: The campus is only 90 minutes by bus from New York City, and the city is served by a municipal airport.

Beautiful Dorms: The air conditioned dorms are located adjacent to the Student Union and classroom building where workshops will be held. Conference attendees will choose from double rooms with private bath or suites that include four private rooms which share a sitting area, kitchenette, and bath.Award Winning Dining: The dining hall provides a variety of options, and a café and snack bar offer between-meal options.

A Place to Gather Socially: The Red Door is a private lounge in the basement of the Student Union that will be the site of our after-hour gatherings.

And much more!

Plan a vacation of the spirit and soul for the writer within.

It is with great pleasure that the IWWG announces the 2016 Summer Conference Keynote Speaker . . .  Nancy Giles!

NANCY GILES is an  actor, comedian, and writer, with 2 Emmy Awards for her on-air commentaries on the acclaimed "CBS News Sunday Morning." She toured with Chicago’s famed Second City comedy troupe;  was Jay Thomas’ sidekick on his “Morning Show” on Jammin’ 105 in New York City; and was the announcer and co-host of the cult favorite "Fox After Breakfast." Nancy's written four solo shows and is working on a collection of true stories called "Notes of a Negro Neurotic."

Giles has offered her social and political perspectives on MSNBC's "Hardball with Chris Matthews," "Melissa Harris-Perry," "All In with Chris Hayes," "Politics Nation with Al Sharpton," and "Up with Steve Kornacki." On topics from politics and race to pop culture and body image, Giles says, “I want to make people laugh and I want to entertain them, but I also want to provoke thought and discussion.” Giles is a funny, perceptive, and provocative observer of today’s world.
