Writing as Restoration
On the restorative power of writing, Julia Cameron says “Writing is medicine. It’s an appropriate antidote to injury. It is an appropriate companion for any difficult change.”
Globally and individually, we’ve experienced unprecedented personal stress and loss. Over the course of four sessions, I will explore writing restoration as meditation, celebration, excavation, and gratitude. Your expression may reveal itself as poetry, prose poetry, narrative, memoir, or journaling. There are no limitations!
I invite you, as Natalie Goldberg says, to “take out another notebook, pick up another pen…in the center of chaos, make one definitive act…say yes, stay alive, be awake. Just write. Just write. Just write.”
